Can't make it to your polling location on Primary Day?  You can cast an Emergency Ballot at City Hall.

The deadline to apply for a regular mail ballot has passed.  We have now entered the "Emergency" Voting Period.  Registered Newport voters can apply for and cast an "emergency ballot" at Newport City Hall during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding legal holidays) now through 4:00 PM on Tuesday, September 11, 2018

Any voter who is not able to appear in our office during these hours can complete an application (available below or at our office) and designate another individual who will be authorized to pick up the voter's ballot and deliver it to them.  The authorized individual must present ID at the time of picking up the voter's ballot.  The voted ballot must then be returned to our office no later than 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018; or returned to the RI Board of Elections located at 50 Branch Avenue, Providence, RI 02903 no later than 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
