Please note: The tax bills have been sent to the printer and although you are able to change your address, your bill will go to the address we have on file. You won't see the change on the new tax bill or the 4 quarterly payment stubs, however any correspondence the City of Newport needs to send to you will go to the updated address.

Online Change of Address Form - Fill and Submit: REAL ESTATE and TANGIBLE accounts only. We cannot change your MOTOR VEHICLE account mailing addresses on a permanent basis.

You are required by law to change your address with the RI DMV within 10 days of moving. Please do not submit Motor Vehicle accounts for address changes.

NOTICE: The filing period for all exemptions has ended on 3/15/2011 for fiscal year 2011-2012. You must wait until the opening period to file for all exemptions which is generally mid December of the current year.

We will have all exemption forms available in the office and online beginning December 15, 2011 for the fiscal year 2012-2013. Exemptions can NOT be applied retroactively on any account.

The period for filing a tax appeal for fiscal year 2011-2012 has ended on November 3, 2011 @ 4:30 PM. Any applications received after this date will be returned as the Assessor does not have the authority to accept applications beyond November 3rd.
