RIEDC Business Development Resources

The City's Community development program is responsible for community and economic development programming and activities.

These activities generally include expanding commercial base, creating employment opportunities, economic development contract monitoring, budget control, compliance with state and federal regulations, administration of the housing rehabilitation loan program, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) administration (grant application, project development, fiscal management, and supervision of activities, programs and sub-grant accomplishments).

The City supports enhanced Community development opportunities through the following initiatives:

• John H. Chafee Boulevard Redevelopment
• Maple Avenue Improvements
• Newport Heights Project Infrastucture
• North End Redevelopment
• Washington Square Historic Restoration
