Maps and Plans

Newport's eight census tracts are numbered C.T. 405 through C.T. 412. Each census tract is further divided into two or more block groups. By extracting information from the ten-year U.S. Census, planners can learn more about the characteristics of a neighborhood's population. The most recent census was taken in 2000.

For more information on the census, visit the Census Bureau's web site.

The Comprehensive Land Use Plan was adopted by the Newport City Council on February 26, 2003. The Plan received approval by the State of Rhode Island on August 6, 2004, and remains in effect for five years.
