Clean City Program

The Newport Public Works Departments Clean City Program provides services for the curbside collection of residential refuse, yard waste and recycling, litter management for areas with heavy pedestrian traffic, and graffiti mitigation.

The City of Newport Public Works Department’s Clean City Program has posted the new 2008 Trash Pickup schedule .

The City, through a contract with Waste Management Inc., provides weekly curbside collection of household waste, bulky waste and recycling. Yard waste is collected for four consecutive weeks in April and November, every other week through the spring and summer months and the first full week of each of the winter months.

The Clean City Program maintains approximately 250 litter barrels in the downtown business area and in the citys parks. Litter collection is provided by seasonal employees operating mechanical sidewalk sweepers.
