The Division provides a variety of sports, special events, concerts and youth programs that benefit Newport residents and non-residents, from pre-schoolers to senior citizens. Emphasis is placed on activities which a person can learn as a child and participate in throughout a lifetime. Numerous grants and sponsorships support this division.

Tennis Team receives shirts from International Tennis Hall of Fame

It also supports Community-wide free and low cost special events that provide safe and fun family opportunities.

The Martin Recreation Center, also known as the "Hut", is the Division headquarters and house the Recreation Administrator and Supervisors. It's amenities include a game room, craft room, and full size gym complete with hot showers and lockers.

Special Events are held seasonally to celebrate major holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Labor Day or as part of larger community events. Summer concerts and Children's performances are held weekly in the summer at Easton's Beach. All events are supported by community sponsors.
