Easton's Beach Repair Information

Easton's Beach Repair Information

As part of our ongoing efforts to rejuvinate the Easton's Beach complex, we've recently awarded a contract to demolish the structures that house the Easton's Beach Snack Bar and Carousel. While the Rotunda and Bath Houses will remain, because of demolition, bath house passes will NOT be available this season, with hopes to bring them back in 2025.

In the meantime, beachgoers this coming season will be able to enjoy a number of amenities, including food trucks, fully accessible restrooms, children's playground, and more.

The demolition follows a community meeting held in October of 2022 in which the condition of the beach and a potential vision for the future was discussed with Councilors.

Learn About the 2023 Reassessment

Learn About the 2023 Reassessment

📣📣📣 Every three years, communities across the State are required to perform property revaluations in order to set the most accurate and equitable tax rate possible.

Newport’s 2023 update is a statistical revaluation which relies on sales data from the previous year and is meant reflect the market value of each property as of Dec. 31, 2023, with final assessments taking into account things such as general market appreciation and any improvements made to individual properties since the City’s last revaluation.

Since Rhode Island General Law states that the tax levy cannot increase more than 4 percent from year to year, and because the City’s budget process is still several months away, property owners 🔴 should not use the existing tax rate to estimate their future bills. 🔴  For more information on ANY of the above, head over to www.CityofNewport.com/Assessor
