The transfer station will be closed on Monday, August 10, 2020 in observance of the RI Victory Day holiday. As a result, there is a one-day collection delay for the week of August 10 for all trash and recycling collections. City offices are also closed for the day.
Newport offers subsidized tree planting programs for as low as $85 to residents interested in sponsoring street trees in the public right-of-way, or setback up to 20′ on private property.
Please note that the City's tree planting program for 2020 is now complete. Please contact email@example.com in the fall of 2020 for Spring 2021 opportunities.
Commit to caring for a young tree and the City of Newport will provide one at wholesale cost and plant it for you! (Tree must be situated within 20 feet of a public roadside).
