Spring Recycling Event Scheduled

In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the City of Newport will be hosting the annual Recycling Day on Saturday, April 25, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at Easton's Beach, 175 Memorial Boulevard, Newport, RI. Please see the Special Events page for more information.

Waste Collection Resumes April 2020

Just a reminder that regular yard waste collections will resume in April 2020. Yard waste collections are scheduled for 4 weeks in April and will continue every other week through October 2020.

Recycling News

New Textile Recycling Bins Added

Looking for a way to donate your clothing and textiles and help to divert materials from the landfill? Two new Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island (BBBSRI) donation bins are now conveniently available year-round at Easton’s Beach and the Edward King House in addition to the donation bin already located in the Self-Service Recycling Center at City Yard. BBBSRI accepts all clothing, shoe, household linen and other fabric donations. Any textile that is donated should be clean, dry and bagged and placed INSIDE THE BIN. Please do not place items outside the bin. Gently used and ripped/torn or stained items are accepted.

Edward King House, 25 King Street;
City Yard, 80 Halsey Street.

Paint Drop-Off Events Scheduled CANCELED!

Recycle your leftover paint for free! Paintcare has scheduled a local Paint Drop-Off Event for Rhode Island Households and Businesses.When: Saturday, April 4, 2020 from 8am – Noon at Middletown Second Beach, 474 Sachuest Point Road, Middletown, RI.
