City to Host Halloween Spooktacular at Easton’s Beach

Community Sponsors Wanted to Help Scare up Halloween Fun

​ Calling all ghosts, ghouls and goblins: Newport Recreation will once again be hosting a drive-thru Halloween Spooktacular at Easton’s Beach on Sunday, Oct. 31st from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
This family-friendly event, which made its debut last year, will once again be taking over the center parking lot at Easton’s Beach thanks to the generous support of our local business community.

Crack Sealing Along Cliff Walk Slated for Monday

NEWPORT, R.I. (FRIDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2021) – Visitors to the City’s Cliff Walk on Monday may encounter a detour from Memorial Boulevard to Webster Street as crews fill gaps and repair cracks in the asphalt surface thanks to a generous gift by an anonymous donor.
The work, which will require portions of the popular walking trail to be closed to pedestrians for a time on Monday, Oct. 18th, is scheduled to get underway at 7:30 a.m. and is expected to stretch into the afternoon.

Fall Water Main Flushing Set to Begin

Work to take place in Newport, Parts of Middletown and Portsmouth
NEWPORT, R.I. (TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2021) – As part of the Newport Water Division’s ongoing maintenance of the island’s water distribution system, water main flushing is set to run from Sunday, October 17 through Nov. 4th in Newport and parts of Middletown and Portsmouth.

The flushing will begin at 8:00 p.m. and continue until 4:00 a.m.   Signs will be posted in each area before flushing begins.
