City Council Invites Public to Welcome Our Sister City of Shimoda

NEWPORT, R.I. (Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025) -- Newport City Councilors are inviting the public to join them at a reception on Thursday, October 24th at 5:30 p.m. at The Edward King House to welcome members of a delegation visiting from Newport’s Sister City of Shimoda, Japan.

(FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2025) –The City of Newport has announced the launch of its newly revised Community Grant Programs, including details on eligibility, the application process, and key deadlines for community-based nonprofit organizations. Applications for Fiscal Year 2027 grants are due December 5, 2025.
