The Waste Management Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2020 for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday. As a result there is a one-day collection delay for all trash and recycling. All City of Newport offices will be closed. Please plan your visits accordingly
In summer, especially weekends, Newport tends to be congested with traffic and on-street parking is difficult to find. Visitors are encouraged to park at the Newport Visitors Information Center at 23 America's Cup Avenue.
The Visitors Center serves as the City's primary public transportation hub, including access to discounted public transit. Visitors Center patrons can receive up to 1/2 hour free validated parking.
The City also operates the Mary Street lot, between Mary and Church Streets. This facility has a 120 car capacity, has a public restroom and provides residents with up to three hours of free parking once per day (Resident Sticker required).
Newport Police enforce metered parking areas.
Cliff Walk Visitors are encouraed to park at Easton's Beach. Located on Memorial Boulevard, the Beach provides ideal Cliff Walk parking, and fabulous seaside attractions for families visiting Newport.
