If you are applying for a NEW tax exemption, including the veterans, senior or two tier residential tax program, please be advised that the due date is February 27, 2026. Owner-Occupied Residents currently enrolled in the 2-Tier Tax Program do not need to reapply.
Thank you for considering volunteering at the Newport Recreation Department! Volunteers are needed throughout the year and especially in the coaching area. All volunteers are required to fill out and complete mandatory background check paperwork.
The department is always looking to expand recreational opportunities and welcome input from residents, who are interested in adding programs, sponsoring special events or leagues, or volunteering.
Also a tremendous need for scholarship support is needed so all Newport youth can participate regardless of ability to pay. A special fund has been set up to support this effort.
We welcome your ideas and support to increase our outreach into the community.
