In summer, especially weekends, Newport tends to be congested with traffic and on-street parking is difficult to find. Visitors are encouraged to park at the Newport Gateway Center at 23 America's Cup Avenue.
The City also operates the Mary Street lot, between Mary and Church Streets. This facility has a 120 car capacity, has a public restroom and provides residents with up to three hours of free parking once per day (Resident Sticker required). Seasonal parking kiosks are located throughout the downtown area and at various points around the City. In addition to paying via credit card or cash at the meter, motorists are also encouraged to pay via the Passport Parking App. Simply park where you see PassportParking signs & decals, pay for your parking session from your phone, and be on your way!
