The Waste Management Transfer Station will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2020 for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday. As a result there is a one-day collection delay for all trash and recycling. All City of Newport offices will be closed. Please plan your visits accordingly

State Seeking Input on Pell Bridge Ramp Realignment

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation released a Draft Environmental Assessment for the anticipated Pell Bridge Ramp Realignment project, detailing their recommended design for the area.

The proposal, which would free up roughly 20-30 acres for future development in the City's North End, is a critical component to shaping the City's long planned North End redevelopment project.

It’s Official: The National Sailing Hall of Fame is coming to Newport.

City officials have formally closed on a deal to sell the upper two floors of the historic Armory building on Lower Thames Street to the National Sailing Hall of Fame for $1,685,000.
