We're committed to delivering clean and affordable drinking water to our customers across Aquidneck Island.

Newport has a long history of delivering drinking water to residents of Aquidneck Island.

Our original water works started in 1876, and was formally incorporated as the Newport Water Works Company five years later in 1881. That company was succeeded by the Newport Water Corporation in 1929, and since 1936, the City of Newport has owned and operated the system.
